Not overpriced at all and not common in high grades. I guess you might try looking up the Pop reports in both ICCS and PCGS. In VG-F, VF yes, but it ends there....

"Am I the seller ?"...NO. I will correct the previous Pop report comments though. The 1947 dot, the 1938 in MS-65 and the 1947 (plain) are the Keys to this series. I've watched the 1947 for the last 7 years and few if any in any mint state show up.

Just a guy that likes to see the right info come out...

http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins...ts-1937-1952 gives it $72.
Charlton 2015 Vol 1 is $65.
Personally, while I like to collect minor errors like die clashes, I don't pay extra for them. :-)

Yes CoinsandCanada have been informed and refuse to update on many different prices-the same as Trends (CCN). Believe what you want. In 2007 before the "Crash" a 1947 in '65 was asking $1400.00. After that for the next 7 years there have only been about 7/8 auctioned in any grade. The last 2 from Colonial Acres in '64 went for $105 an $107 respectively. Two "torex's ago a 1947 in '65 started at $900.00. As I sad believe what you want. This one's a sleeper..!

I'm soooo.. very confused... unlike you I don't know my history of this particular coin as well as you...

But if you are NOT the seller... and you recognize that this coin in it's condition is a sleeper...

#1) Why are you not buying up all these coins now
#2) Why are you telling everyone about it...?

I think is a very nice coin... but there seems to be a VERY big jump from 64 to 65 in this coin...

Ahh I'm just too inexperienced... but there's more than a few things I'm just NOT understanding...

I will continue to read this thread.. and watch the auction..

When a coin might sell for $100 and/or $1400,..well you'd better have a good look and it better be done "in hand".

An old ICCS 64 and a new ICCS 64 are 2 different fish...

You can't trust any of the #'s anymore........and photography can definitely enhance a coin. It's always .."buyer beware" ..when purchasing solely from on-line pics..

You can't buy them all-I've had this coin years ago and now collect Newfoundland that's why. It doesn't mean I don't recognize a good deal when I see one. Since I may see a lot of great coins and there are several out there, I buy what I can and frankly, If this one's still around in a few weeks I might just be "forced" to buy it....

Full trends in 64 is $ 80 Canadian and a realistic wholesale bid is 45 bucks hardly what you call rare !
2014 ICCS pop report is 92 coins in MS 64 Of which we have two in inventory and 35 pieces in MS 65 with none higher.
At a major New York auction in the 1980's (Bowers and Merena "Kissel and Victoria " sale there were hundreds of Mint state 1947 Dot five cents sold !! ) Most of these have probably not been graded by ICCS.
I would suspect that there are more 1947 BU five cents out there that WOULD grade 64 or better, but most will not submit a coin that is usually under a hundred bucks. BTW fill your boots on the ebay lot !!
