I'm new to coins and having difficulty distinguishing BU from just uncirculated. Also not sure about telling the difference between a circulated coin in excellent condition and an uncirculated coin in not so good condition. What would you consider this 1953 D Franklin half? I bought it as BU but not really sure it is. Thank you for any help.

Coin looks AU.
BU and uncirculated mean the same thing

au -58, slider could go ms-61, you photos are good, but you need them to be straight on, not at a slight angle, for the best results.

I can see coinfrogs statement but I'm leaning towards AU-58 with possible FBL's .@OP Your confusion on this coin is within reason .
