20 Franc Gold Coins - 1859, 1876, 1909

Coins70 New Member Canada 4 Posts	Posted 01/31/2022 11:41 am A neighbor had a family member pass away recently and he had a small coin collection. The coins he had were mostly face value coins but there were a few nicer ones. As I came to the end of looking there was a plastic food container full of international coins all loose in the container. At first glance, they looked like mostly face value assorted coins but I decided to dump the container on the table and have a quick look through and in the container found what appears to be three 20 Franc Gold Coins. I did a quick magnetic test and they are non-magnetic and feel like gold to me. Just wanted your thoughts....I find it odd they were buried in a container of worthless coins. Here are some pics. erafjel Pillar of the Community Sweden 2124 Posts	Posted 01/31/2022 12:56 pm They look genuine and it looks like there is a raised edge lettering on them (which there should be). Just to make sure, you can weigh and measure them: They should be close to 6.45 grams, have a diameter of 21 mm and be 1.3 mm thick. Nice looking as they are, they do not stick out value wise. They are 90 % gold and in this condition they go for the gold value (today, USD 335 a piece). Report this Post to the Staff
