This was a FUN show pickup and my first Feuchtwangers token cent. It is raw, and when the price was quoted to me, I could not pass it up. There is weakness in the eagles chest, I'm not certain it is wear. Coin still has plenty of luster!

Grade thoughts?

I believe your Feuchtwanger is a 5G die marriage. My gut feeling from photos is that it is uncirculated, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did grade AU. These are notorious for weak strikes. Congrats on your first one! I love them.

Color is pretty accurate, might be a little lighter in hand. Totally original in my opinion, with no spots and obvious lack of anything distracting. Picked it up for $300. I felt it looked better than any of the MS coins on ebay, even though the strike in the eagles breast is on the weak side.

I came up with 5G as well, which the obverse is typically on the weaker side on the eagle.

That's a nice one. I always liked the eagle and snake design. Definitely better grade.

I would grade this very nice Feuchtwanger MS60 and above.
The central weakness is inherent, not a result of circulation wear.

Haven't had much experience grading these, but certainly close to uncirculated.

Very nice one. I have a graded AU-55 5G that is similar to this one. I think yours is slightly better so AU-58 to MS-63 would not surprise me.
