Here's a recent happy find of mine I thought other members here may enjoy seeing. The 1911 'hollow neck' penny first discovered by Michael Gouby. Very rare and not often encountered in grades above VG.

Totally unfamiliar with this variety, but a nice-looking coin!

Freeman catalogs this coin as R17 (16-50 known examples) whilst Gouby catalogs this as R7 - Extremely Rare (26-50)

Certainly one of the better examples I've seen. Nice pick up.

As you say, very difficult to find in better grades without busting a budget.
