The U.S. Mint has finally, completely gone off the deep end. $750 for 1/2 oz of silver? I don't care that it's hand-pressed or limited to 2,026 pieces.

...and they only want a paltry $19,600 for the gold 1-oz version.

I knew I was justified for deleting the email when I got it. My immediate hope was that a half ounce might be under $100, but I knew better and did not even bother to seek the details. Sticking with my gut—only buying the three annual sets and declaring that a victory.

This is stupid on SO many levels, but the biggest marketing error they made is the release date
Should have been July 4th, not the 16th

I didn't know about these until today. Thought the silver ounce would be kind of cool. Then saw the price and asked where I can get some of whatever the mint is smoking?

$750?!? 750 US Dollars? For a 1/2 oz silver medal? Wow, I thought we'd seen the epitome of greed from the Mint in 2026, but boy was I wrong. Disgusting and shameful, plain and simple. And unfortunately, until the collecting community puts their foot down and stops paying these nonsensical prices, the Mint will keep churning it out.

Maybe it's a typo, $75.00 is more reasonable.

With only 2,026 being produced for sale, all of the development and production costs are spread among fewer items.

You'd think that for $750 they could have been a bit more creative than this.

Way overpriced! Man, the U.S. Mint has gotten pretty greedy.

Quote: all of the development and production costs are spread among fewer items True, but IMO not much time/thought went into the design of these. Oh and this will be a hard pass for me.

Could you image if they had created a 3 dimensional Liberty Bell coin?
I might actually buy that
