1988 $5 Error Note Value - Coin Community Forum

mmhoss13 New Member United States 11 Posts	Posted 03/16/2011 9:22 pm Hi there. I'm looking for some help to figure out the value of a 1988 $5 U.S. bill that has a printing error. The back of the note is printed fine, but on the right hand side where the blank paper borders the printing, there is a partial printing of the front side of a new bill. That's about as easy as I can explain it, but the picture should clear it up. The bill itself is in ok shape, but it does have creases from being folded up and put in a pocket or small wallet. There are no rips or tears from what I see though. Any help you can give me is appreciated. It actually belongs to a neighbor who was asking me about it so I told him I'd find out and maybe be able to sell it for him. Report this Post to the Staff

I agree with the valuation, as it's not a major area, nor particularly high grade. The more spectacular an error appears, the higher the value. Report this Post to the Staff

Wet ink transfers take place when sheets are wet and laying on top of one another (during the drying process) and has nothing to do with "rollers".
