Bilbo Pillar of the Community United States 812 Posts	Posted 07/07/2008 6:19 pm I'm pretty sure the 'ONE' is the result of a weak strike or grease in the die when it was struck, since the other details are fairly strong. I'd grade this VF-20. Report this Post to the Staff

The 'dirt' you are refering to should be found on a circulated, unmessed with 150 year old coin and will in no way influence the grade. CuprousCoin Valued Member United States 226 Posts	Posted 07/08/2008 10:30 am OOOOOHHHHH so close to VF20, The obverse actually has fairly good strike characteristics for a Flying Eagle cent and the poorly struck ONE on the reverse is quite common. The reverse is also slightly stuck off center. overall a very nice original coin and a nice addition to any collection. F15 Report this Post to the Staff
