It can be hard to tell just by a picture if it is MS or not. However, if it is MS it is MS-60 due to all the marks.

It appears to have nice luster and a decent strike but all the dings knock it to MS60

How could it still be considered "Mint State" with all the bag marks?

Bag marks are from hitting against other coins in the mint sewn bag.

If it's possible to have a mint state coin bodybagged for "damage", this one would fit the bill. I've seen coins with multiple bag marks, but this one is at the next level I think. She's had a pretty hard life.

I'm almost wondering if there was something wrong with the dies on this. I can't figure out why a lot of the letters both obverse and reverse seem so weak. They are weak across from each other as well, which tells me it wasn't "tilted" per se.

Hmmph, I guess we'll wait on some experts on this one.

Howdy,

I agree with b.j. and biokemist6:

MS-60, but heavy bagmarked, otherwise she coult be an MS-63 or 64.

All in all a good strike on the eagle and Miss Liberty.
The weak lettering, I think, may be a struk through grease.
