Hi Leprecoin,

I'm guessing you like those Indian eagles!

This looks like another AU coin to me. I see slight loss of detail on the eagle's left shoulder and leg and on the head and neck. Luster is present but reduced in the fields. I'd call this AU-50 to AU-55. ANACS sometimes seems pretty strict with gold coins so I'd lean more towards AU-50.

Got to thank Anacs for keeping the hobby affordable :)
I could bet they'll grade this AU55, and pcgs, ngc will au58-ms61. but anacs actually gave this one MS-60. I need to try and cross it with pcgs one of these days. Most 11-s I've seen have a die break over the date. this one don't! was always curious how many dies they actually used fro that date...

Well, that's three for three, with me undergrading Leprecoin's Indian eagles. This one does look like an AU IMO, but I'm basing my opinions on graded coins in my collection. Maybe my reference coins are also undergraded?

I'll post an example or two.

Well Jaobler, If you refer to the 1926's, they look different, 1926 MS62 looks like, say 11s MS65.
this series have many differences between one strike to another, which am still puzzled with many times.
and the shoulder usually look soft, MS or AU, so in many cases, it gets down to the fields, and luster, which is extremely hard to tell of this pictures.
In any case, I would also prefer downgrade then over grade...
better be called "Traditional" then "overgrader" ;)
and thank you for taking the time, this is fun :)
