Sometimes it isn't needed keith. If you're mentioning a larger error such as a Cud or a die break, yes taking full photos of the coin would be good. But for tiny things such as this, I don't believe it's necessary. |

Posting full photos front and back is a welcome matter of protocol. On occasion, other interesting things are discovered on the coin beyond what the original poster directs attention to. Just sayin'.

Very true. But generally speaking, CH17 managed to spot something very minor. I'm sure something would've caught his attention on the obverse and reverse if he was looking that in depth.
Sometimes it can be tedious to take whole pics of the obverse and reverse, especially with the type of microscope both CH17 and I have.

Never hurts to shows us the whole coin (front and back).  I agree with SS, either a die crack or a stain. |
