Grandma's 1950's Pennies Color Question

Pppna New Member United States 17 Posts	Posted 01/21/2022 7:12 pm Hi all, I stated looking at the Pennies today, & I noticed that there were 2 of them in Red color. Is this discoloration over time? Please see Pictures. I placed a normal looking Penny in the middle of the 2 Reds. Furthermore, I took picture of the 1950s set; please look at the picture from the bottom coins, then up. The Pennies on top of the bottom row are of the same year. There were a lot of 1958's. Please let me know if any are rare. Thank you! Report this Post to the Staff

Your Lincoln's are nice, but very common dates for all that I see from all of the mintmarks shown. Actually, all the dates from 1940 on are common but still cool to collect and keep, as I do anyways. I would say the reddish color is due to natural discoloration from any possible environment. It is possible to have cool varieties such as re-punched mintmarks. The four rare dates are 1909-Svdb, 1909-S, 1914-D, and 1931-S. There are a bunch of semi keys in the teens, twenties, and early thirties, and all of those have mintmarks.
