1999 Pennsylvania Quarter Missing Partial Clad

coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 06/13/2022 1:54 pm A cup holder coin. Part of the coin was protected with another coin and this one was on the bottom where the oose, happens in the holder and stained. The other coin on top of this coin protected it. If it were missing a cladding, what color would you expect to see. Note on the outer edge of these coins. The copper layer is what you would expect to see on a missing clad coin. Note how the strike on this one is strong on the copper colored areas. That means the clad was missing pre-strike. Post strike peel, leave the design of the devices weaker on the remaining ghost image: Same for cladding that was peeled off post strike: Note the area was struck, but then peeled off the coin later.
