Hi! I am a total novice so thank you in advance for any help!

I picked up a few 2022 Sally Ride quarter rolls from the bank a week ago and found 5 that I believe have two die chip errors on them. To be frank, I feel like these are obvious errors but being that they would be the first error coins that I have ever found I would love some insight from more experienced collectors especially if I am mistaken.

Here are two of the five. I am seeing a die chip on the nose and the corner of the mouth.

. They look like die cracks/chips in common areas on the coin. No added value though.

Too small and too common to keep.
Die chips 4mm square and larger may be worth keeping.

to the CCF Die chips are events, every coin that is struck with that die will have them.

As Cujohn said, die chips are considered a die event, not an error, as they are a normal part of the die aging process and appear on every coin struck by the die once formed.

Thanks so much for the information. Happy to at least be noticing abnormalities. My eyes are catching way more than they used to even if insignificant. :)

Your training your eye. When you look at the sites that show die attribution numbers, study these. know that on some series, the same event can happen on a different year in a similar way. That hit me a few years back on the 2004 DDR's on the Liberty area. Thought came to me to look at other years for the same thing happening. With in a few weeks, I discovered the first 2002-D DDR on the same area, affected almost the same way:

So don't just make lists of know die examples. Study the listing and consider the a similar event can happen on the same series. Then you will be the first discoverer of a new listed variety. The secret? Know what to look for. Know what your looking for. The difference? Know what happened, and could happen on a new variety. Soon your eyes will have doubled dies leaping out at you, that you never expected to see. Many times we are looking too hard and find very minor stuff. [u]A doubled die announces it presence with they are found.[/b]
