Nothing like as much luck as MrPink! Yesterday I picked up one 2011 penny from the forecourt of my local gas station:

good eye, NumisRob. that coin picking luck wasn't really with me last night, I picked just one nickel and seven zincolns. eight stops for twelve cents over a three mile bike ride. that, along with the kitty that I have been feeding the longest (about 7 years) has apparently gone MIA, made for a disappointing night. all of the others showed up, though, but he almost never misses a meal. he hasn't shown up for 2 nights.

not much money to find tonight... but my missing kitty returned (yay! ), he got a gentle scolding, extra pets & luvvies and extra food tonight, and I was able to twist a roll of dimes, added to the bank bag, $87 to go to reach $5K.

Glad the missing kitty is back! One of my friends has a beautiful pedigree Tonkinese cat that vanished from home for 36 hours and then turned up as if nothing had happened! I think she found someone who enjoyed her company and maybe gave her something to eat!

yeah, kitties can be unpredictable, especially on the street. I've had to learn to just accept the fact that they sometimes disappear with no clear reason why. so many have come and gone in the 8-1/2 years that I've been doing this. that's life. sometimes that change is difficult to accept. it's the same with people, but typically you know what has become of the person. typically, but not always. people disappear, too, sometimes. well, I'm glad he reappeared. interestingly, nearly all of the street kitties that I feed each night are female.
I'm going to curl up and snooze with Mr. Pink for another couple of hours before I have to face this day, another hot one on deck. I wish that pouch of benjamins would show up.
as far as picking coins goes, dimes appear to be the new zincolns now. I'm finding considerably fewer lincoln cents.
