*** Edited by Staff to Add Year and/or Mintmark and/or Denomination to Title. It's essential to have it in the title. ***Please let me know the following on this 1880 CC GSA: Grade? PL? DMPL? VAM? Thank-you!! I UPDATED THIS POST TO INCLUDE: Proof Like and DMPL tests at 4" and 6"....and it shows the word "NOTES" in green...as well as a picture to determine the VAM. The second "8" has a bar under it. Thank-you!! Edited by DrapedBust1776 Today 3H 29M ago

Kinda looks like it would be PL but is awfully "scruffy" in certain areas. Not at all unusual as the GSA dollars were carted all over the country in the 1900's. As far as a grade goes I'd give it a "62 PL". As far as the VAM goes IDK.

all CC morgans were boldly struck. the ear and hair around the ear are on the weak side. the breast is quite flat. there is some cameo look to it due to the PL surfaces. shes been banged around a little. assessing mirror depth without a point of reference, like newsprint, is just a guess. she looks PL but need that reference for anything deeper.
PF61 maybe 62 PL

MS-61. Lots of chatter in the fields and on her cheek. From the image I don't see it being PL, but it is nearly impossible to see from images. Here is my similar coin that was just graded at CACG, https://goccf.com/t/490370.

I see it as low MS and not PL.
MS-61, a MS-62 at best.

psuman08 - that is rough... CACG may have graded too harshly on that coin. Usually, the chatter is overlooked when you have frost, PL with regards to PCGS, NGC.. I would resubmit.. That's AT LEAST a 64.. if not 65

Quote: Panzaldi, I uploaded some pictures of print for your review. I revise my earlier opinion. I believe it is Proof Like, possibly DMPL. The additional photos show what the first were missing.

I believe it may be. When I click to view the full-size images, the reflections are quite clear.
