With the amount of wear on this coin the lettering has most likely worn off, there are still some impressions of the lettering evident particularly on the last image
I don't think the weight, by itself, in this case, determines anything. The weight is within the low end of tolerance. (7.8gr - 8.4gr) https://www.coincommunity.com/us_co...lerances.asp I just weighed several Presidential dollars, most weighed in the +/- 8.00 grams. A 2008-D Martin Van Buren, with typical circulation wear and clear edge lettering weighed 7.90. That said, I also lean towards the heavy wear and/or light sanding to have removed the lettering. The edge lettering on some coins which I have searched is extremely light - to the point that with normal circulation wear, it is difficult to see.
