Hey,

I was searching through a roll of pennies and came across a 1914 Wheat cent with no mint mark. Anyone able to give me some info on it? I can only find info on ones with D or S mint marks. I also found a 1938 no mint mark, 1953 D, and 1956D. Are any of these special or rare?

no mint mark = Philadelphia
"D" = Denver
"S" = San Francisco

All the dates you have are common
Rest in Peace

Philly still doesn't use mintmarks on cents.

Glad you said that.

Philadelphia has never used a mintmark on copper - ever.

1914 is worth 25c to a few dollars depending on grade, and the others are common wheats...but still somewhat unusual finds in rolls today - especially in Canada.

1953D - I have 5 rolls uncirculated, and 14 rolls of AU++ circulated coins.

1956D - I have 27 rolls uncirculated, and 21 rolls of AU++ circulated coins.

Contrast...

1914P - I have 1 roll plus 12 coins of F-VF or better.
