Hey guys I found this on the net, a 1925 penny with King George VI? I'm guessing this is a scam?

it's the sort of "mule" that comes out of China or the Phillipines.
I have a 1907 QE2 penny.

Yeah...one of those rare ebay mules.
Most likely, the seller simply made an error, posting pictures of two different coins. I sure hope somebody didn't destroy a genuine 1925.

I have emailed the seller telling him he has either mixed up his scans or the coin is a fake/fantasy coin.
See what happens ay

I have looked at this sellers other items and he has a 1946 penny up as well.
The obverse on the 46 matches the pic for the 1925 penny.
Looks like an honest mistake with the listing ( wrong pic posted for the 1925 penny ).
Here are the pics for the 1946.

On the bottom picture, there is a line visible from the P in IMP up to between the X in Rex and FD.

I'll bet this is where it was held in a vise to slice it in half.

I recived this pic of the obverse.
and an email explanation.
This seller has no idea about coins
This is not a scam but a listing mistake.
This 25 only grades as fine so I can't see it realising the $230 starting bid.
He only realised he had the wrong scan when I told him that king George V wears a crown and George 6th dosn't

That line is a crease or fold in the clear stuff on the 2x2.
It's hard to get a good scan through that on a scanner.

It was obvious immediately, that they weren't pics of the same coin.
The staples are at different angles.
