national dealer Pillar of the Community United States 2724 Posts	Posted 02/12/2005 11:41 am How many of you take the time to search for the major or minor varieties? A dealer called me this morning to inform me that a customer found a 1982 Dime with no "P" in her change. The coin grades in VF to XF and appearantly has seen a bit of circulation. I just wonder how many collectors overlooked the variety in their pocket or within their collection. Report this Post to the Staff

catman Rest in Peace United States 954 Posts	Posted 02/12/2005 12:00 pm ND, I have to admitt that I'm one of those who don't pay much attention to varieties, errors or oddities. I have coins that I bought in the late 1950's and early 1960's that have never been attributed. Lotsa of Bust Half Dollars. I'm just not into that. zakgold Valued Member United States 382 Posts	Posted 02/12/2005 1:53 pm Me too...Since Lincolns are my game, I look at 72 and 95's for the DDO and periodically check 98 to 2000 for the Wide A M's. Other that, they end up in my loose change bin. Report this Post to the Staff

Of course, I have days at work with nothing better to do than go through the coin and plenty of loose coin to look through, so why not? And I always check my pocket change before I spend it. Most of what I find are not varieties, but stuff like clipped planchets and filled dies, plus the occasional Proof coin that escaped into circulation. Rachel [:p] Report this Post to the Staff
