As far as I can tell, there is absolutely nothing there. The area circled looks like a simle lump of tarnish. Worn and I must have the same vision. I am going to have to send it in and see what happens.

OK, no sooner than I posted that than I picked up a regular 23 and gave it a hard look. Sure enough, NOW the 3 is clear on the S coin.

Still, I would not buy it and spend that kind of money without it being rated by one of the 4 TPGs. So if I am to get her a good value on the coin, off to ANACS it goes. Along with the two 32 D&S Washington quarters in this collection.

Good luck with the TPG - unless those of us that see the 3 are absolutely delirious, you should be happy with the results.
