It seems that you just can't get enough Capped Bust half dollars so here's one that arrived yesterday. It looks like an O-117 R2.

thanks. I have stopped in Dahlonega a few times to "pan gold", and have a couple of vials with maybe a dozen gold flakes floating around.

Fuzzy - what a great coin The interesting thing, to me, is that it was just yesterday I was reading about the GA mint and was thinking how great it would be to own a Dahlonega minted coin. Now its a toss up between working on keys for a few series or one of these. Another funny thing is that I remember as a kid having a 50 state puzzle map. They had various icons representing famous state landmarks on each individual, state-shaped piece. Since I was a new collector at the time, I was especially interested to find the maker of the map had labeled a mint in GA (by putting a picture of a Mercury dime there)! This was what led the way for me to finding out there were other mints besides Denver, Philly, and San Fran. But it also left some unanswered question as to why the puzzle maker left out the others. I always have wondered whether the person making the pics was ignorant of the others or was just a proud GA native

You are right one just cannot ever accumulate too many, it is an enjoyable addiction that sets in soon after you buy your first example. I just started with two for my type set thinking that that would be it, but I was clearly wrong.

Quote: I live in the state of Georgia, USA. Gold mines and a mint branch were in Dahlonega GA before the Civil War, and since getting back into collecting I have wanted a coin minted in Dahlonega. I had set some money aside, and finally found one in my price range. Very nice! I am not too far from there either.

I stopped by the local coin shop today to see about upgrading some buffs, and made a couple decent finds. First, I picked up this 1923-S Buffalo to replace my badly cleaned one. Only in fine but it beats a cleaned one... Then I nabbed this lady for my 7070. My first CB Quarter... Has it been cleaned?
