Got an 1864 2 cent. I wanted to see if I could get one for under 25 bucks that had really good bones. Best I could come up with. This is before and after Verdi-Care pics...

Interesting. Green is gone, but that spot remains. It is not pitted there, is it?

Do you think the coin could tone that same brown? I cannot tell if she is red-brown now, or already brown. How dark is that spot compared to a nice brown Wheat cent?

The spot is a dark green now, almost black. I think I've arrested the development of the verdigris though.

The other side is perfect and I think she's still an awesome coin. Here is before and after for the reverse....

Thanks guys ! Its still the same dark copper as in the before pics. Just my led's are covered with orange plastic caps and gives it a tone.

Got a couple of additions in the mail this week: 1945 D Jefferson 1986 D Statue of Liberty Commemorative Half PCGS MS69 Also, last Saturday I was at a local coin store that has a bi-monthly bid board. There were a bunch of beautiful Mercs I was bidding on. During the last 5 minutes another guy went and bid waaaay more than they were worth. So, I cut my losses but decided to stick around for the drawings (you put your bidder # in a can and the owner gives away a few coins/bills to the attendees). Much to my surprise my number was called and got this beauty. What is better than getting a nice piece of silver? Getting it for free! 1921 D Morgan
