Hey Bizy thanks for the heads up on the next release. What a cluster... the mint has made out of this coin. Maybe in the long run the collector's version will be worth more with the current sales being so low. I just wonder how long the P version will last. From the sounds of it according to Clair it will at least make it through 2012. I just received my 2 new P pucks from the mint yesterday. One has a tiny indentation on the rim below the " R " at the bottom of the coin. Has anybody else seen this with their coins? My other coin looks perfect, no flaws that I could see.

Teach the one with a tick unless you can find its some sort of an error and not a deformity I would send that back for another one

Hey Basebal21, So you think it would be worth paying for the postage to send it back and pay for the postage for them to send me another is worth it if there a "tick" on the rim? How much value do you think is lost by this "tick", more than what shipping there and back would cost I assume from your statement? Thanks.

Do they even charge for postage on exchanges for defective products? But to me at least its lost a decent amount of value. If you were to have it graded it definitely couldn't grade perfect which carries the highest premium and not sure if it could even get a 69. But either way personally I would much rather have a clean coin and make them keep sending me them until they got it right. After all you ordered the puck not the puck with a tick on it.

No point in keeping a less than perfect coin, as you'll know where the imperfection is, since there are plenty of coins, I'd exchange it for a better coin. I have only received two coins with similar issues in this series, Hot Springs has a slight rim ding at 12 o'clock and the Grand Canyon coin is unfinished on the heads side. By the time I got the first coin, the issue was already sold out.

Bizy do they have a no replacement policy for sold out items? Considering they can make them it seems to me at least they should stand behind their product and if you do get a bad one sold out or not they should mint another one and destroy the one you send back in

How the Mint handles an exchange goes like this: the product is received at PBGS, you immediately get a credit on your credit card, if that was the original form of payment. If you checked off the defective box on the return stub on the invoice, they process another order under the same order # the next day, IF product is available. If not, it stops there. With the Hot Springs coin, there was no turning back, either return it and get a refund and buy one later on the secondary market. Technically, the returned defective products are destroyed and not returned to inventory, so you aren't supposed to get someone else's rejects, but who knows what really goes on behind the scenes in Plainfield.
It'll be nice to get another puck, but the Chaco coin is the least liked design of the five. Looks like two holes in the ground. Even I though I understand they are supposed to represent ceremonial kivas, the Mint didn't have to get so literal and show both in its entirety. There were some partial architectural elements on other designs that yielded some really striking views that would've complemented the Grand Canyon ATBQ. One K every so often in an outstanding coin series is to be expected.

Bizy sorry about the bad luck. I dont really agree with the mint saying we only swap coins if theyre in stock especially on products that by the time you see them the sale is long over like the new ASE set no returns will happen just refunds. Seems like they should make a few extra just in case for defects that get out or check them better before they stop the line

The El Yunque puck almost feels like a foreign coin for some reason, I guess because it isn't in the U.S. I must say it is one of the better designs though, I like the way it looks in the vapor blast finish. I am still waiting on my bullion version to arrive. It is always interesting to compare the two.

As a U.S. territory, Puerto Rico doesn't get to cast presidential electoral votes or have representation in Congress.

No representation in Congress? Do they pay taxes? I can't believe we'd have taxation without representation (quick -- grab the tea and start tossing it in the harbor!)

Hmmmm... a quick Google search shows that Puerto Rico gets a "Resident Commissioner" who is a non-voting member of the United States House of Representatives elected by the voters of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico every four years. The Commissioner is allowed to serve on congressional committees, and functions in every respect as a Representative except being denied a vote on the final disposition of legislation on the House floor.

They dont get votes and aren't particularly interested in getting statehood either. It's more like a close ally we can freely travel too and let join the military. Their only voting power is in primaries and the turnout is minuscule. I would fall into the category of someone who views it as almost a foreign coin and have never really been very excited for it. I would have rather seen the territories as a seperate series personally
