My "darkside" selection is very limited but after seeing all the artistic designs shown so far here's the best one I have

I like seeing all the different foreign coins.
I wish I knew more about them, I am thinking
some of them might be coins with good value.

This thread is making me want to buy more foreign
silver coins. I am thinking maybe dollar size coin
from as many different countries I can find.

I wonder if most countries have a 38mm silver coin.

When I was putting my list for this thread, it was hard for me to choose which coins I liked best.

One thing I knew, is when I look at a album of coins, I always look at the low mintage/key coins first.

So I used that thought to put my list together.

#5
1997 P matte proof NGC SP 69 Jefferson nickel
mintage 25,000
Numismedia SP 69 list value at $218.75

The mint issued this coin only in the 1997 Botanic garden set.

Although I did not dig this coin, I bought it for $20 from a gentleman that found it with a metal detector near the famed ghost town of Bodie, California many years ago.
This ghost town is one of the famous of all ghost towns and has a very colorful history of prostitution, saloon shootouts, and mayhem everywhere.

vermontensium - I had to go back and look for what you were talking about. The first time I looked all I saw was a very cool dug coin. In my experience you don't dig up a large dollar coin very often .. even better with the ghost town connection
