I didn't see a thread close to this even when performing a search, so I figured I would start a thread that calculates what I have found upon searching through Lincoln Cent rolls from the bank. Today, I picked up two rolls and was surprised they were in paper versus the plastic they almost always come in. I wonder if that means these were customer wrapped rolls. Anyhow:

Canadian cent from 1976

From the first roll, I ended up with 16 coppers for 32 percent. Only five pennies in the roll were from 2000 or later which I found odd. The second roll had fifty-one cents there was a Canadian cent that was a bonus so-to-speak. For the second roll, I had 13 coppers for 26 percent. Still no cents past 2000 in the second roll. Someone must have a thing for post-2000 cents.

I don't think I've ever opened a roll of bank wrapped cents that didn't have a post-2000 coin in it. I think you hit the nail on the head in your original observation...probably a CWR from someones old piggy bank or something.

I got an oatmeal can full of cents (about $35) from my Grandparents that were from pre 2001 and it had some REALLY nice condition zinc cents and about 50% was copper. they were very clean and even after going through half of them my hands werent even very dirty. I wouldnt mind a few of those per week.
