Couldn't find a fully struck OBV with a fully struck REV -
so, I gave up looking for the full corn ears on the REV...the OBV carries the coin.

I can see how it would be difficult to resist the beautiful colouring on that one.

My Barber Dansco's arrived today except for Halves, so I spent a couple hours this evening moving my Dimes and Quarters out of 2x2's and into "proper" storage. :)

Once the Half album shows up I'll take pictures of the three albums. They're not even close to full, of course, (19 dimes, 23 quarters, 31 halves) but I prefer Danscos over staples/flips for obvious reasons...

Also got my Buffalo nickels moved over to a Dansco, and waiting on Walking Liberty half dollars to show up in the mail. Still need to find 2 cent / 3 cent nickel, and then perhaps Jefferson nickels. Already have Morgans, Peace, Mercs, V nickels. I think I'll also pick up one for Kennedy's & Ikes.

These for 15xface this week at my neighborhood LCS:

1912 & 2x1912-D dimes
2x1913, 1895-S & 1905-S quarters
1878 and a slightly mangled 1894-O half

If I'm going to buy junk silver this is the best kind to get.

As jbuck requested... :) Forgive the photography. Camera almost dead. Also, I rotated all the reverses to "right side up" the only downside of that is the dates are backwards on the reverses. Keep in mind, these aren't beauty contest winners, just good, old, honest coins. Also, the half dollar album was bought used & the writing is not mine.

Great start to the series - glad you pulled the coins out of the flips - they are better appreciated in the Danscos.

I found a Dime for my Everyman Barber Sets - on ebay -
and here is the seller's image[s]:

How many sets do you actually have? I've seen you post so many Barbers of all denominations I wonder if there's anything left out there!!

In answer to AcesKings question.... I have a few sets that I am working on.
All the sets are virtually complete except for the Quarter collection. I have
two coins that I would like to upgrade to at least an AU 53 ... Prefer 58's.
I started the Quarter set knowing full well that I wouldn't be adding any of
the three Keys as they are just too expensive on a retiree's income.

My sets consist of:

Barber V nickels: Proof set in progress;
MS set in progress; AU 58 set in progress. All together - it's
a complete set.

Barber dimes: Proof set in progress;
MS in progress; AU 58 set in progress. All together - it's
a complete set.

Barber quarters: Only a few type Proofs Ty 1 & Ty 2 & 3.
Misc. MS coins mixed in with AU 58's. A couple of AU 53-55's
are mixed in because I can't locate AU 58's.

Barber halves: Set is a mix of XF coins - with the occasional AU
thrown in for good measure. I have some AU 58's as duplicates,
and a handful of MS coins. ( Coins I found to be above the norm
in eye appeal. ) With the mix of XF, AU and MS coins, the set of
Half Dollars is complete as well. I do not collect Proof Halves.

Over the years that I have collected, I have put together a number of
sets of all the denominations. Three Nickel sets; four Dime sets, two
Quarter sets and six Half sets. A few coins from each previous set have
crossed into the newer set, as is the case with all my current sets.

The day will come soon enough that I'll be selling everything off... it'll be
a sad day in Barberville when that happens. I know a few coins will be
kept and passed on to family. No one collects anymore in my family but
a few still appreciate a beautiful coin.

Currently, I am about to consign approximately 60 duplicate coins to Heritage for The ANA Auction in Anaheim this August. A dozen or so coins will be in the regular auction - but the majority will be part of the Internet Only segment of the Auction.

It's been a while since I posted here. I haven't had a lot of monetary freedom lately so I have been sitting back and watching. I thought I would share a few random things about my friend Elbesaar.

I remember in 2011 when Elbesaar sold off everything and was done with collecting. He came back more furious than ever. Mike is a great guy and very passionate about Barber coinage.

He sold me my first Barber coin. A 1905 Au58 quarter he bought raw at an auction in the 90's. Mike also sent a gift of a Barber dime in Au58 to my daughter to commemorate her birthday. My daughter was born 1/31/2013 so Mike sent a 1913 dime. So very cool. (by the way, my daughter shares the same birthday as my grandmother who was born 1/31/1917...and she's still living on her own)
