Just a quick note about the 1892 Dime I posted the other day - the images were - yes - absolutely terrible. Well, the coin arrived today ... This little coin ranks right up there as one of the prettiest Dimes in my collection.
I had a few newps going to CAC - and this went with them. Professional images are definetly in order....

Found this on ebay tonight - and although I own its duplicate [ ex: Don Willis of PCGS's coin ] I only paid half for this one...not a bad deal if I say so...

Thanks, Jbuck, I thought so as well. I have been searching for a 1914-S Quarter in AU for what seems like forever. Well, I was offered a nice AU 55 from a friend who upgraded to an AU 58 ...Here's my newp: This coin once came out of the old Briercreek Collection in North Carolina - and before that out of a collection in Illinois. It was sold to a friend in Georgia - who was nice enough to offer it to me. Thanks, CCT ! My friend also bought a stunning - incredible, actually - 1895 Phila Quarter -as I had a mediocre looking MS 63 which I was planning on replacing anyway - well, he offered me his duplicate AU 58 - which I love: A couple more images to come - but I do not want to clog up the system !!

Following "My Heir and the Spare" Collection strategy, here is my 1st & Best 1909-S Quarter - which I chased for a few years.... "The Heir" Last night's win on ebay - a great "Spare" - AU 55 Next: a minor upgrade for my Quarters: Thanks, Gail !

I picked up a raw Dime - which I am hoping gets graded AU 58 - There's enough surface disturbance that I know the coin won't grade MS - but not too much wear to lower the grade to AU 55...I am being optimistic !! Again, part of the Heir and Spare Collection theory: I have a MS 64 and no AU ... so ... here's hoping:

SRS77.. That's a wonderful coin. A real beauty. Regardless of grade.
Not a lot new since my last post....picked up a 1900 Nickel ICG 58 which is going to get cracked out and submitted to PCGS with a few other raw coins....(the images are terrible - the coin looks like a grey blob )....Also,going in raw to PCGS is a nice 1901 Dime in a newer Anacs holder - which graded AU 58 ( which I will crack out as well...) ... and a raw 1911 Dime that I have not received as yet - due next week - it looks nicer than a 55 but not a MS coin... My gut said 58, I hope I am right. Looks very original. The image of the 1911 are in a previous post. The AU coins are for the Everyman sets.
Have a Happy Fourth of July !!

Well, that submission arrived today - pretty fast shipping for a Registered Box. They shipped me my previous submission of Thursday - I don't expect it till the weekend. Two Barber dimes CAC'd: 1892- Phila [ very well toned ] in PC 58 & 1916-S in PC 58 - off white/ crème tone with loads of Luster. I was disappointed that the 09-O Dime in PC 58 = Did Not Pass.... My new Ty 1 - 1892-S Quarter - also a 58 and my newer 1905-S Half in PC 53 - well, these were shown the door without a Green or Gold sticker...VERY Disappointed !I had some ebay Bucks to use up [ I have forgotten about this too often ! ] Here's a decent { MS 63 } 1914-D to go into my collection: I have another MS 63 - but some thing is wrong with it: Images by Valente151 I have a nice 1914-D in PCGS 58 {CAC} as well... but the images are terrible, IMHO. Its the old Heir and Spare Collecting Theory !!
