Does everyone here have tons of money? The mint seems to think all collectors do. They just released another 1 kilogram silver coin, the battle of Queenston Heights. I get that there are only 700 minted, but it cost around twice the value of silver content. It is actually quite spectacular though- lots of detail. Our Canadian mint rocks! Truly the best in the world. (Except for the customer service. I'm still waiting for my 10 pack Brock quarters darn it).

It's not a new coin, I believe it's been out for awhile. You can't always compare it to the spot price of silver, or you'll never be happy. It's not bullion.

Hey all! Just found this forum and signed up so this is my first post.

I was thrilled to be able to buy all six of these coins! I went with the hand selected versions, tremendous value in my opinion. Bought them as soon as they became available. Obviously a good move since all three fivers are now sold out unless you go to the premium level. True pieces of history, definitely looking forward to receiving them!

@rockdaddy,
I got an email from the mint about it today. Hadn't seen it yet myself but I tend to over look novelty coins.

1913 $10 Premium is web only now. $1750 per coin, so expensive! however, it seems they will gone shortly.
I feel lucky I didn't buy the 5oz beaver, so I got the money to buy the 1914 $5.

RCM's 5oz Silver coins never do well after market. The 5oz penny is my first 5oz coin, but luckly it is doing well. I won't buy 5oz coins in the future, unless they have good theme.

The guy had 3 for sale. I thought about getting them all but I was working out of town at the time and had to bring some money home for my wife.

Redzapsid, it sounds like that you didn't tell your wife you bought that coin. I didn't tell my wife I have bought 1914 $5, otherwise she will beat me up. :)
