Is it not possible that Colonial Acres bought some and are selling them just to keep their existing customers happy? Makes perfectly good sense to me! Other companies do this on a regular basis.

I mentioned several times here that colonial acres offer 5% discount to their vip customer. I just tried, these gold coins have 5% discount as well. so I'm sure CA got bigger discount from RCM

Yeah, I'm sure they got a discount on the hiked price of the premium coins but we were discussing that it was unlikely that they would get much, if any, price discount on the hand-selected coins given their small premium about melt. Let us know if colonial acres is offering the HS coins at a 5% discount to customers (or even at mint price for that matter). I highly doubt it.

Interesting article here: http://www.coinworld.com/articles/r...-5-10-coins/A lot of it rehashes what has been said here, but I did note that one paragraph said: Alex Reeves, RCM senior manager of communications, addressed the conditions of the coins: "The bottom line is that we don't grade coins. However we did work with a professional grader to sort the coins in terms of esthetic quality. Our goal was to offer up the ‘cream of the crop' if you will, without getting into anything that suggests a grade."

Quote: I'm just saying that if you spend $8000 in a year on coins from the mint, I'd like better perks than some guy that bought just 2 $500 coins. If I spent $8000 a year on coins my wife would file for divorce for sure. MC used to be $750/yr and was increased to $1000 already so I personally like to stay there. But I do think the RCM should modify the rules: Release to general public/dealers/MC at the same time. None of this silly secrecy surrounding pictures, the RCM policing crap, etc. "RESERVE" a certain percentage for MC members only. There is the true PERK I would be looking for. Limit to 1 per MC member. Focus on the legitimate collector, not the coin flippers. My 2 cents.

  Amen! The coin flippers are messing with over all of the true collectors.

Problem is, the flippers usually find ways to get more than one item, even with the one per rule.
So, in the end, the one per means that a lot more get into flippers hands, and the legitimate MC member can't take advantage of the occasional profit/investment opportunity.

The limitations on the number of coins you can get only applies to items that sell out very quickly (this is just my theory). Like the $20 for $20 coins. However, I think I've discovered a loop hole. I've had 9 of the last two $20 for $20 coins sent to me at the same address and while using the same account. Information is power. If I share it here, I'm sure some flippers will end up using it to get their hands on tons of coins without the head ache of having several accounts to keep track of. I'm just saying, the limit the mint sets doesn't really apply in some cases. ***for the record, the extra coins I've gotten with this loop hole have been given away as gifts to younger family members and friends to get others interested in the hobby I love, collecting coins. I haven't sold any coins I've got with this loop hole for profit***

@canadian coins, I'll take your 2 cents, like they're 1858 pennies. The perks could be better for sure.

I think RCM intensionally delays the shipping for MC members, a true collector wouldn't mind too much of the delay as long as the coin is secured, but for flippers, timing is everything.

I've got 3x (the limit) of the $20 for $20 Reindeer. I wish I can get a few more to give away..... I don't know how to work around, other than create another account or get the coin send to another address.... :(
Back on topic: Anyone surprise that the $10 are not sold out? Are the 1913 $10 close to sell out? How many do they have left, any guess/info?

Not sure about the $10 Gold coins but as of 4:00PM yesterday, there were only 9, 6 Coin sets left for sale. As I mentioned earlier in this thread the shipping dates will be mid to late January for these coins.

Other companies do this on a regular basis. If Colonial Acres really wanted to keep their existing customers, they would have bought some of the $5 coins. The coins they are selling now are still available from the Mint.

@SA4H,
Have you received your 3 $20 reindeer yet? If so, simply order 3 more.
