I would like to see early access if they changed their MC program. I know it was a free for all on the first gold coins.

well everyone managed to get these coins. I waited 2 full days thinking this over and still got the $5 HS 1914. Those coins were still available even after day 3. Obviously if people wait and wait then thats their fault.

MC status at $1000 is reasonable. I dont agree with different levels, but maybe an increase to 2500 WITH special perks. Such as early access for ANY release and perhaps exclusive MC only specials. (special black cases for MC members only upon ordering....instead of the red ones) that would be more VIP :P hahah

they are selling the set (sold out) and the $10 premium coins...at release price, since they are still available to order at the mint. This means CA got them for a discount, otherwise why bother selling for the same price you paid for.

Agreed - they got a discount.

Too bad they are only selling what can be purchased directly from the RCM currently.

hello everyone - new member and first time poster here. I was lucky enough to get my order in for one of the $5 HS 1914 and have been looking for more information about these coins. I found a recent entry in World Mint News Blog with some interesting info and thought I'd share (sorry if it has already been posted by another member somewhere else ) : " Some Numbers on the Canada 1912-1914 Gold Coins" :

The dealers did not get of the coins before us. Otherwise Coloinal Acres would be selling the $5 coins. They are only selling what is currently available at the Mint.
Also, maybe they are only getting a discount on the premium coins and the set. Notice Colonial is not selling the handpicked $10 1913 and 1914 coins. There is a substantial markup of the premium coins from melt value, so the mint is allowing a discount on that markup.

@ssp-Ottawa
@cc-Ottawa,

I don't fly or collect air miles or points or whatever, I'm just saying that if you spend $8000 in a year on coins from the mint, I'd like better perks than some guy that bought just 2 $500 coins. aside from the free shipping, the perks suck. As a master club member, I've even still waiting for the Brock quarters I ordered in the first week of October. As a test, my wife ordered the same coins a week after me and got them within 6 days. She is not a master club member and never ordered a thing before. darn right I should get more as a high paying masters club member. At least priority shipping.

This seems pretty plausible. I can't see dealers getting much of a break on the HS coins otherwise the Bank of Canada would have been better off just melting them. There would be no reason to sell them below or near the melt value. When you add packaging into the equation, there is not much room for a discount for dealers.

@redzapsid - Which is why I proposed a special $2500 (or higher) MC VIP tier. Aside from the current perks, add the fastest shipping method FOR FREE, priority for every single release and perhaps some sort of special VIP mint packaging only for those VIP MC customers.
