"barber nickle/dim/quarter "

? You mean, dime/quarter/half? Nickel of that era was liberty, right? getting that for spot would be amazing, since the base metals are worth just under its face value currently! :D

Here is another silver round I found @ the LCS yesterday, for the first grand baby to go with his year of birth ASE.

B,

You always have the best silver, as well as the almost mephistophelian ability to acquire them at rock bottom prices. It's getting to be nearly impossible to find really good deals on ebay anymore. I still can't believe how lucky the guy got who found those Aussie Lunars for near spot. I don't believe he said where they came from but it couldn't have been ebay. I'm still kicking myself for not buying the 2000 Lunar Dragon "proof" for $150 back then. I should probably hit my LCS more often. He disdains any coin not made in North America and marks world coins accordingly.

I didn't say where I got them because I feel the information is extremely valuable and I'm still trying to figure out what to do with my knowledge. I don't want to simply shout it on the mountaintops, just like no one will tell how they order Ike dollar bags.

Sunday I picked up another ASE (2001). I offered $22 and ended up getting it for $20, just because he likes me :)

I wish I knew dealers with a disdain for world coins!

Almost as good, though, are coins in 2x2s that were priced when silver was below $10.

Bros,

I wasn't asking where you got them, just noting that ebay has dried up as a source for cheap world coins in general. I actually got most of mine in the low $20's, as well. But that was nearly four years ago, when silver was much cheaper and most Lunar coins didn't have the same cachet that they have now. Wish I'd bought more, and that goes for China Pandas, also. All the early 2000 Pandas were selling in the mid-$20's back then. Now I consistently see 2000-2003 Pandas going for nearly $100 packaged. I'm still missing the Aussie mouse, goat, pig, and bull. Because I got the others so cheaply, I can't seem to justify paying the $50+ it would cost to purchase each of the others.

Traevin,
I've got those coins with significant premium over spot ... low mintage caught my eyes and I decided to go for them. Spent several hrs looking for past sales but for 1k mintage this is hard thing to do.
I was very late for the game - joined in fall 2010, two years of bullion stacking, then slow switching to numiz ... That's why I pay today's premium for the coins I like, but I do sell some coins to reduce the average I payed ... Thinking about going to the higher league - to buy slabbed early pandas, but still in doubt

this is another batch
