The 1979-P Wide rim is a hard find - I have only found 2 out of 5 boxes.

I opened two rolls yesterday. There were two SBAs, the rest were presidential and Sac/NA dollars. The one noteworthy coin was a Woodrow Wilson, which I was happy about.

Two boxes last week and two boxes this week. The four boxes yielded SIX wide rim SBAs, THREE 1981 SBA, 5 proof SAC, 13 NIFC SAC, 19 NIFC Presidential, and over $500 in gem BU George Washingtons (somebody must have cashed in an entire box of them). Why can't my half dollar rolls be this successful?

went to my bank Monday and picked up all the dollar coins and $2 bills they had. This was a strange batch, either someone had bulk deposit or some business was hoarding these. Many of the rolls were all one type. Out of 2525 coins:1 was a quarter 1197 SBA$ 1096 SAC$/NA$ including an impaired proof from 2000 231 Pre$ including an impaired Van Buren proof

Fuzzy - I like your detail!
Monday I was able to find 2 of the presidents I was missing - only 3 to go. 2 Sac's - only 2 to go to a full set. Have not seen any of the 2016's yet.

This week's two boxes yielded 4 wide rim/near date SBAs, 4 proof SACs, 6 NIFC SACs, 4 of the low mintage 2013/2014 SACs, and 27 NIFC Pres. I was able to fill two more holes from this haul. Aside from the 2016 issues, which I have not found in circulation yet, I just need Eisenhower D to complete my set...this is after just four weeks of searching small dollars. I'm still amazed at how many NIFC dollars end up in the rolls. I've been sorting them into tubes by President (but not separating P&D) and I expect to have enough to wrap 2 or 3 presidents after next week's haul.

I search two boxes of small dollars each week, in an attempt to complete my albums entirely from circulation. The past few weeks, I've had much more luck with small dollars than I've had with 6 boxes/week of halves! Yesterdays finds included: 1 x 1981 SBA Proof (Type 1) 1 x 1981-S SBA - NIFC 6 x 1979-P SBA wide rim/near date 1 x 2001 SAC Proof 1 x 2002 SAC Proof (severely impaired) 2 x 2002 SAC - NIFC 1 x 2004 SAC - NIFC (rainbow toner) 3 x 2005 SAC - NIFC 3 x 2012 SAC - low mint 1 x 2013 SAC - low mint 3 x 2014 SAC - low mint 1 x 2015 SAC - low mint 1 x Benjamin Harrison Proof NIFC Presidential: 10 x Grover Cleveland 4 x Calvin Coolidge 3 x Harry Truman 3 x Chester Arthur 2 x Herbert Hoover 2 x Theodore Roosevelt 1 x Benjamin Harrison 1 x William McKinley 1 x FDR 1 x Woodrow Wilson 1 x Warren Harding 1 x 2 Euros (keeping for my trip to Europe this fall) 1 x 10 Dominican Republic Pesos (returning to bank) 1 x $1 East Caribbean States (returning to bank)

I love searching small dollars. As many above can attest, they are very rewarding due to a few tough varieties: 1979 P SBA wide rim (easiest to find); the 2000 P SAC speared Eagle reverse and the ever elusive 2000 P SAC Cheerios dollar. Also, don't forget to look for the Presidential dollars lacking the rim lettering, especially Washington and Adams. When searching dollars quickly, I separate the SBA first, which are easy to pick out. Then look at all golden dollars for lack of rims and separate those, which are the early SAC dollars (mostly 2000-2001) so I can search for the 2000 P varieties. If there is a rimless Presidential I hit the jackpot- but I've yet to land one. The Presidential and modern SAC dollars I'm mainly looking for proofs or NIFC coins. I have found proofs, many NIFC coins including the tough 1981 SBAs. Although there is no silver, small dollars are a lot of fun to search, since so few people search them. It is even more fun to spend them, as so many cashiers have a puzzling look and have to ask a manager if they accept them.

I had a nice small dollar roll from the bank this week. It was machine rolled.
18 of the coins were well-circulated Sacs or early Presidentials, nothing interesting. But there were some neat finds too. . .
One 1981-S Susan B. Anthony. A little scratched up, it has circulated some. One 1979-P Susan B. Anthony that looked very new, hardly circulated at all. One Harry Truman-D NIFC, shiny and new, uncirculated or almost Three Millard Fillmore-Ds, very shiny and new, uncirculated or almost One George Washington-P, shiny and new, uncirculated or almost
The new pres coins and the SBAs were all next to each other in the roll. My guess is that portion of the roll came from a dumped collection.

Well, I finally tried it out on small dollar searching, and I'll have to say its underrated given that you won't find anything before 1979 (unless if some British halfpenny or some other foreign coin (UGH) slips its way in). Out of just $150 (6 rolls), I found 2 1979-P wide rims, a 1981-S NIFC, a 2002-D Sacagawea NIFC, and a Grover Cleveland 2012-D NIFC (I accidentally uploaded the IFC James Garfield unfortunately, but I've managed to find every president up through Grant in addition). Pretty good beginner's luck!

That's a decent score for just six rolls. It is very easy to find good things with the dollars though, since they aren't widely searched. With just two boxes per week for the past month and a half, I've completely filled my SBA, SAC, and Presidential albums through 2015 with all P/D mints...I've also found most SAC proofs through 2012 and a few SBA/Presidential proofs. I've found so many NIFC that I've actually been able to roll 2002 SAC, 2003 SAC, Grover Cleveland and Calvin Coolidge. Several other NIFC are close to being rolled. I am also getting close to a full roll of SBA 1979 wide rims...I'll probably be able to roll them after next Wednesday's boxes.
