I found this coin from Afghanistan last week. I know that it is worth two afghanis, which is equivalent to about Two Cents. The date on the left picture says "1383" in Arabic, but this uses a different dating system called Hijri. 1383 in Hijri is the year 1963 in the Gregorian calendar.

Can anyone translate the writing on this coin or tell what the building is?

I was spending these from pocket change when I was there as a tourist in 1970.

Your coin is an Afghanistan, 2 Afghanis, KM# 1045 1383(2004). The Solar Heijira is used. Iran is the only other country, to my knowledge, using this calendar. The building is simply a depiction of a mosque.
Sorry, can't help with the legend on the obverse.

The Arabic/Persian inscription reads "The Afghanistan Bank".
