I recently received a coin collection from my grandfather. As I was sorted through I came across what looks to be a foreign coin of some sort. Unfortunately I'm unable to post a picture so I will do my best to describe it and hopefully someone can shed some light on what exactly it is.

The coin looks bronze and has a bald man with a beard on one side with the words, "Georgivs V Dei Gra Britt Omn Rex Fid Def Ind Imp" on the flip side it says one penny and has what looks like a Spartan or possibly a Trojan holding a trident and a shield.

If anyone can give me some information on this coin, it be greatly appreciated, Thanks!

your description sounds like a British One Penny. I will try to find a picture to compare. Does it have a date?

BTW - the image on the obverse is King George the fifth, and on the reverse is Britannia

Although it's a little hard to tell because she's wearing armour, but the seated figure on the reverse is actually female: Britannia, the personification of Britain.
