Any thoughts on this dime, did someone use a sander or something on it?

Any suggestion on how to take a good picture of the clip?

Looks more like PMD, picture on the side would help, but is fairly circulated and only worth as a conversation piece.

IMO it's PMD.
With a clip of that size I would expect to see the Blakesley Effect.
Not there as nearly as I can tell.
