Quote: Well, I missed the August update, but with a lot of other stuff going on I haven't really been carrying my pocket pieces much this month either. I'll do the usual monthly update tomorrow and then go on as usual. No problem. We can wait.

Nice progress, Jack! My 2010-D half seems to have disappeared. Hopefully it turns up soon. I still know the whereabouts of the other four pieces.

Luckily it was not in the dryer. I found it this morning on my dresser.

Yes, I'm glad it isn't lost. To be honest, though, considering my organizational skills, I'm surprised more of the five coins in my pocket haven't disappeared in the past ten months.

Sounds like a victory against the odds then.

I've been carrying this for the last couple of months -- I'll admit I was inspired by this thread. Yes, it's an impaired proof, but I wanted a mintmark from my (current) home town and my birth year. Silver content is a nice plus, the piece is the right size, and it's my favorite design among the then-circulating coins. And it makes a lovely "ping" when I flip it as I'm walking the hallways at the office.

Very nice! You are a year older than me.

I've thought about a birth year coin for a pocket piece, but I prefer older coins and like big silver. I suppose I could use a 2000 ASE or silver proof JFK, but that doesn't seem too interesting. I also don't live near a mint. I'm pretty happy with my 1885-O Morgan- it makes a great flipping coin/conversation piece.
