re..the 2 complete sets sold for presale only......personally I wouldnt sell anything that wasnt in my hands but I am buying presale gold again this time...its always a gamble and you tie up your cash on someones deal with the mint or PO..These listings dont make sense ...this is not a cheap buy..the silver coins are only worth 250 so your paying almost 1800 for the gold alone....great for the seller....who knows whats goin one?

I went to the RCM event in Ottawa tonight. There were a lot of people there. They had 40 gold superman coins. If you wanted one, the hostess was handing out numbers as you entered the door. In other words, first come, first serve. She was holding number 40 as I reached her, and so on a total spur of the moment, without any initial intent to do so, I decided to take the number. I now have a gold superman coin albeit later delivery.

Don't expect it to restock at the boutique.

all 2014 superman coins are not yet soldout at the RCM ...419 action is still available and the CP release has yet to happen....but the exaggerated claims of presale sellers will attract buyers in the hope of getting gold...lots of fun.....

According to my local canadapost dealer he told me that only the gold is direct ship and solvers were available on 21st through canadapost which are sold out only those that dealers ordered to sell at their shops are available, he was telling me how he wanted to get more but the stock dropped fast and canadapost sold around 10000 silver coins on that day

hummm I gotta say... I really don't get it... I've been trying to get the gold superman as soon as it was first announced... and I guess I am really crap out of luck. First off, I didn't get any e-mails from the mint to advise of those despite my USELESS MC status. I called them, and according to them, they were all sold out and it was totally impossible to get one. however, two days later, I learned that more were available on their website! go figure! I checked with Canada post, and unless you pre-ordered it on Aug21, you can't get it. not even direct ship! (at least that's what I was told when I talked to them). IT is really frustrating to see that it is only available for select people. I would have no issue if I simply missed it and it wasn't my fault. but to be told that it is all sold out, and then learn that they are still selling it is REALLY frustrating. where can I make a formal complain at RCM that would actually go somewhere? I tried to do it on monday morning, only to be put on hold for 45 minutes... after that, I hung up too fed up of waiting.

@dominic......if you cant get a 2014 superman gold at issue price then go for a presale because they wont get any less expensive as time goes by...this will become another 2000.00 coin

Hi Cassidy777,
What makes you think the coin will sell for $2000? No one is buying them for $1300 with a buy it now. What are people waiting for?

jsinger21....i could be wrong of course......at first the 2013 gold superman coin easily topped 2000.00 but now it sells for around 15-1700USD although, in my view, it is plain to see the 2013 Superman is only going to get more expensive..i think the main reason people dont buy the 2014 gold superman at 1300 or less readily right now is because a presale is always a gamble..and you could theoretically lose your money on a defaulted presale....When the coins are in the Sellers hand then the market price will start to reflect a truer long term value and I see 2000.00 as a matter of course.

i would like to say as an ebay seller since 2000 that it is highly unlikely that a presale default could end disastrously for the buyer.....my own personal experience with a gold superman 2013 presale resulted in a refund and one less coin than I purchased because the seller didnt receive his allocation..i think the main resistance to presales is that they tie up your money on a promise to deliver when the seller receives the coin...sort of like kiting a cheque....I bought 3 presale 2014 gold coins because I didnt think I would get even one due to the demand and low mintage..so I've tied up 3k in cash and hope I will see all the gold...but ebay buyer protection and paypal buyer protection should give me enough protection otherwise ebay wouldnt allow presales......i hope! and I did get one confirmed gold through the RCM...pretty soon I will find out for sure.....

I think general public, and comic fan knowledge of the 2nd gold coin isn't as widespread. The first series had a lot of PR (newspaper, television media etc.
I personally prefer the 2014 design and I think the in hand coin will be great. It looks like they are making good use of finishes. That being said, I'm not sure what the prices will do long term.

I am looking hard for a gold Superman coin but I not paying above issue price for one. I do not believe it will do as well as the first one, Firstly, second coin in a series rarely do as well as the first one. Secondly, more flippers has gotten hold of them than the first one. The first gold coin caught the flippers by surprise and they did not order until it was too late. Now flippers are grabbing as many of them as possible and they will drive the prices of the coin down as try to make a quick buck.
