I have 2 1989 pennies with no mint mark. On both of these coins the "8" is much smaller than the other 3 numbers? Is this an unusual occurrence ? Thanks for your help, I am new at this.

As others have stated photos will be needed. Include one of the other side of the coin. A photo of the date will help us answer your question but if it is larger then the next question will be; Why? a full shot of both sides might provide the info needed to provide the answer.
