It's amazing to see how large the design starts out and the steps taken before a final design is achieved. Planchet round cutting, rimming, blank polishing, scrap silver recycling, negatives, positives & more negatives, multiple resizings, microscopic detailing. Truly enlightening! Conder101 Bedrock of the Community United States 17884 Posts	Posted 07/26/2014 09:44 am Interesting video, the die making process is a little different at the US Mint. We now go straight from the computer to the master hub (What they call a Punch) skipping the plaster models and the two step reduction. The lettering and date are also already in the computer design as well so they are not added by hand as they did on the Canadian piece. Report this Post to the Staff
