It should be thicker on the rims as well.

The bold (thick) rims and strong strike are evidence of the proof manufacture of your coin ... easy to identify in this case since all 2003-S Lincoln are proof strike.

Yours has been released into circulation ... hence known as an 'impaired proof'.
