$5 Last Prefix Repeater - Assistance On Grade / Value?

Matt_J Valued Member Australia 88 Posts	Posted 01/10/2015 9:18 pm Hi All, Just found a $5 note serial #: HB 08 852852 I'm new to notes and as far as I can tell this is Last Prefix for 2008, and a 6 Digit Repeater, I would grade this note myself as 'aUNC' as there is no damage to the note or colouring, however extremely faint crease where it may have had a corner folded over for a brief period (bottom left corner near window), I've added photos Scanned with the highest quality I can upload here. Any assistance on the Grade and Value of this note would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!! Report this Post to the Staff

badpenny New Member Australia 18 Posts	Posted 01/11/2015 3:00 pm Sorry, but can't help you with a value [for your grading of aUNC] Also, regardless of what anyone may tell you, it is impossible to grade a banknote from a scan. How to look at a banknote In order to ascertain the grade of a note, it is essential to examine it out of a holder and under a good light. Move the note around so that the light bounces off at different angles. Try holding it up obliquely so that the note is almost even with your eye as you look up at the light. Hard-to-see folds or slight creases will show up under such examination. Some individuals also lightly feel along the surface of the note to detect creasing.
