Interesting. I don't really see heat causing bubbles that large with no other heat effect anywhere save discoloration. Could we see the reverse?

The discoloration was caused by heat.

Fire/high heat can cause an internal separation of the clad layers which results in the formation of bubbles.

That had to be some really serious heat to cause bubbling that thick; I wonder if there might somehow have been something in there which flashed to steam.
