Best of the roll. By the way, I know it's a large date.

MS-63 because of numerous hits. Bet you wish that 7 was a bit taller.

I bought 2 rolls of these knowing they were Large Dates, but hopeful that a Small Date, DDO, or RPM may have slipped through the crack.
I'm trying to put together a BU roll of '70 S Small Dates, but I only have 8 so far. It's going to be a tough row to hoe.

wow...finding 8 already - is no small accomplishment, let alone BU condition. I have never found a small date 70'S. I am trying to fill two sets for ay grandsons. the 70's small date and the 82 varieties are the only LD/SD varieties in the album that I am filling.

nice accomplishments - for you...

I think some clarification is in order here. I purchased 7 of these from a reputable dealer in California. My brother examined them and verified they were Small Dates (he lives in CA). I purchased the eighth from the coin shop around the corner for $1.00. The dealer didn't know what it was. I tried to point out that it was a Small Date and the clerk asked me if was talking about the 1982 Small Date and said the owner would have marked the 2x2 if it was an unusual variety.
I did not find eight BU 1970 S Small Date LMC's roll hunting, nor did I mean to imply that I did.

Indeed....that would be impossible. I too have been working on a BU roll of 70-S small dates. I was fortunate to trade with another member to acquire a bunch, but it cost me a lot of silver. It was worth it to me but I still only have like 23 coins. At the shops/shows they are expensive, typically $35 and up. Good luck with your BU roll. If you're like me, you'll run out of cash for the project before it can be done.

That is almost exactly my average cost per cent on these.
$281/8 = $35.125. If they are at least MS63 RD, I'll take all I can get at that price. I don't ever plan to sell them, so by the time I'm dead and my family finds where I buried them it should all work out well.

So your not taking them with you...the coins I mean. Ambitious goals folks. I have my one and am satisfied for the moment. I have a few BU LDs too - a gift from a member here. I won't be burying them though but hopeful that they wont be cashed in for face value. That would be a bummer!
