Is anyone out there wood grain toning collectors? I myself am pretty new to the scene. In doing a bit of research I found this: http://www.coinbooks.org/esylum_v12n11a07.html I also found this in the community forums https://www.coincommunity.com/forum...PIC_ID=36462

Its interesting to see that they believe the toning is coming from a possible mint error in the mixing of the metals. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple nice examples for my wife :) She is the tone collector.

I have to admit, the woodies have a special appeal that I can rarely resist, no matter what coin it appears on.

I was just wondering today if I put a roll of 50 together if it would sell and for how much.

I started with a coin that had minor lamination issues, chemically toned it quite by accident, photographed it in strong light and then enhanced the colors in post processing.

Oh man, why does this pop up. I'm in the process of downsizing and found some impressive woody coins. I haven't finished documenting what I have!

Meanwhile here are the two that I can think of right now.
