This is a thread for the intersection of numismatics and cars, trucks, motorcycles, etc. - NOT airplanes, helicopters, boats, etc. I'll kick things off with a commemorative medal that celebrates the 75th Anniversary of the first sales of a commercially-produced American automobile - the 1896 Duryea Motor Wagon. (A far cry from today's cars, but ya gotta start somewhere!) Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.

Here's a commemorative medal from 1963 that celebrates the 100th Anniversary of Henry Ford's birth. The reverse of the medal depicts Ford working on his ""Quadricycle" circa 1896,

Great idea for a thread! I was planning to post this in a thread on transportation tokens, but found the thread was locked. Never mind, this is a good place for it. This junk shop find is a streetcar token from the North German city of Lübeck. I think it looks just like the Toonerville Trolley! Unlike many cities in Germany that have retained and modernised their streetcar systems, Lübeck replaced its network with buses in 1959.

Horsedrawn conveyances are taboo?
I was born a century too soon, I guess...

I never pay too much for my tokens...but every now and then I may buy one a little too soon.

Quote: Horsedrawn conveyances are taboo? I'll admit, I had motorized vehicles in mind when I created the thread, but "horse-drawn conveyances" would work also! Whatcha got?

Quote: Here's a pair of medals from 1978 that were issued to mark the 75th Anniversary of The Ford Motor Company. Ford's Model A is featured on the obverse of each.. Excellent!
