Coments on the condition copy on an oval and thick flan. Beautiful portrait of Vespasian . Pretty setbacks. Dark green patina
Catalogue references : C.409 - RIC 1223 (R) - BMC / re.- - BN / R.831 - Giard / L2.82 / 1a (1 ex . ) - RCV.- - MRK.- -

Obverse legend : IMP. CAES . Vespasian . AVG . COS . VIII . P. P. .
Description Obverse : Laureate head of Vespasian right ( O * ) , a globe at the tip of the neck.
Obverse translation: " Imperator Caesar Vespasian Augustus Consul octavum Pater patriae " ( The Emperor Vespasian Caesar Augustus Consul for the eighth time father of the country ) .

Reverse legend : S | C // ROMA.
Reverse description : Rome Nicephore , helmeted and wearing military seated left on cuirass and leaning on a shield , holding a victoriola of the outstretched right hand and the left pararzonium May.
Reverse translation: "Roma " ( Rome).

Did is a dupondius, with no radiated head

All the details are so great, Victory with palm what a beauty

An excellent coin I would be proud to own !

I notice your very meticulous description so I want to point out a small error.
The metal is of course "orichalcum" and not copper.
Orichalcum is a type of brass produced by the Romans using zinc obtained from Britain which was a primary source.

A very handsome dupondius. Even more interesting coming from Lyon.
I have a Nero dupondius which also has no radiate crown.
The coins would have been a beautiful gold color when new.
No one would have mistaken one for an As.
