Can't read the date and my diagnostics say that it is not an 1856, but there is an attempt to make it look like one. Even an AG 1856 FE would have to be graded for me, just for the authentication. I will probably never own one though. How can they say "Problem free nice coins"? I would think that if you have to use a question mark to qualify that it might or might not be a certain date that would be the first, and biggest, problem. Beautiful coin though... The 1856 has thin side walls and a more squarish opening. The "winner" of this auction gets a corroded piece of metal that used to be an 1858 FE. At least it buys them a fantasy, until he tries to get it graded or sent to Rick Snow :) I used to have 2 1856 FEs, but sold 1 to a friend. I kept the higher grade one (ANAC EF40).
