Here is a 1934 Series $100 star from the Chicago district - not rare, but seldom seen in higher grades. This was printed during the long Julian/Morgenthau sig combo years (1934-1945).

Cf, once again you've brought the high heat. Amazing.

Aside from the wow factor of the note itself, those are my two favorite signatures from the past 100 years.

Agree - The two of them "rode the rail with Roosevelt".

Nearly all of the $100 FRN stars printed before the 1950 Series are tough or even unknown in top grades - the Chicago note shown above is probably the most available.

Here is another similar I purchased recently, this one raw but actually a better note, which will be off to PMG this spring.

The first one, in the CGA 65 holder, would only make 64 at PMG based on reverse centering. The raw one above has great paper wave (you can actually get a sense of it in the photo) and beautiful centering on both sides - I'd expect a 65EPQ grade at a minimum. It's just a cracker.

Looking forward to your results! Are the top and bottom margins on those notes always so tight?

Yes, the side margins are always wider. In the case of the raw note above, the left and lower margins are slightly exaggerated relative to the top and right margins because the note was angled and tilted back during photography to avoid flashback. May sound a bit silly but it's a very real phenomenon in close-up work.

Great star notes everybody, I especially like the early small sized $100 stars Mr.Frog.

I bought these two sets of courtesy autographed notes ending in 42 and 47 way back before I knew that Rosario Marin would sign virtually anything and everything you put in front of her. I believe the only two others that signed more than Rosario were Ivy Baker Priest and Mary Ellen Withrow.

Was there something special about 42 and 47?

Picked up this raw '50-B Chicago star recently. Not rare or even scarce, but definitely fresh with a decent shot at 65.

Regardless of scarcity, a very nice note. Sending it in for grading when you have a big enough stack to submit?
