Found this one today searching $2,000 in circulated singles from my bank... got a few others, but this was the only one that was fairly uncommon...

Sorry, just a spender in this condition.

Most everything I've found should be termed 'spenders'... but I'm just starting, so training my eye on what to watch for helps... out of the ten or so star notes I found, this was the only one that classified as a shorter run. I will definitely keep searching and honing my skills in the meantime!

You got that from your bank? Seems lie they'd be turning that in for another star.

Believe me, the bank could give a hoot about star notes. They don't expect or get a new star when they redeem a rag. The only people that care about star notes are the BEP (they have to replace damaged notes for accounting accuracy) and us collecting freaks.

I pulled a Plethora of Star Notes from my buddy's vending machine proceeds of about $4K today. Short Run (Keeper): An oldie but goodie: Plus two Chicago, eight St. Louis, ten Dallas, and three San Francisco - all 2013 Series Star Notes.

Couple of nice scores there. Did you pay your buddy $1 each for them?

According to my records, I spent that second note on a pizza in college.

"According to my records, I spent that second note on a pizza in college." That's funny, Coinfrog! And, yes, I trade him dollar for dollar, and assist him in the sorting/counting process.

I'm clueless CoinFrog - are those worth keeping? I just see a star and post it.

kbbpll - IMHO those circulated STAR NOTES aren't valuable. If they were really low-numbered or really high-numbered, "fancy" numbers like all one number SOLIDS or maybe just two numbers BINARYS, or REPEATERS, RADARS, something that catches the eye. Also, SHORT RUN NOTES that have a low printing number. If you get one that's very obviously "uncirculated" or "almost uncirculated", I'd hang onto it to offer for sale to a collector. You can always spend it later. You can check BEP printing totals at this website: http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/

Here is my only star note—at the end of a wrapped pack of Anderson $1 my grandfather left me.

This ordinarily might have a very small premium, but what's going on with the upper left corner? to the CCF!
